Lovely Flowers Bridal Shower Invitation

31 Jul

This is a sweet bridal shower invitation. It features a soft color palette although the colors can be customized to your taste. The details featured include some flowers that remind me of a tribal-like look. I think they look delightful in contrast to the soft colors and the sweetness of the invitation. Whether your event is a spring-time affair or a tea party or even during the winter season this invitation could be perfect. This printable invitation is available for customization here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/105567662/5×7-lovely-flowers-bridal-shower

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

30 Jul

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is one of my favorite movies. I recommend this movie to anyone looking for an unconventional love story. This movie will keep you glued. The boring and routine Joel Barish and the spontaneous and free-spirited Clementine Kruczynski are an unlikely couple. It reminds me of a part of a song called “Friends and Lovers” by the band Incubus, “What’s wrong with you is good for what’s wrong with me” In other words, the faults that each has make them great together. I don’t want to give any significant details away about the plot, so I shall keep it at that.

This is an invitation that’s completely customizable and printable. It was inspired by the movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Everything from the color scheme to the details is inspired by this film. The cool navy blue color was inspired by the cold temperatures and winter weather that occupies most of the movie. The orange color is a reference to “agent orange,” a hair dye color that Clementine came up. Clementine also has a bright orange hoodie that she wears often.  The flowers that are featured remind me of snowflakes, but at the same time they remind me of sunshine. Some lyrics from a song featured in the movie and on its soundtrack by Beck with Jon Brion, provide a cover version of the Korgis’ song “Everybody’s Got to Learn Sometime” provided the inspiration of sunshine. The lyrics are “…I need your love like the sunshine…” The ribbon banner takes on a feel of being separate yet flowing together just as Joel and Clementine as a couple flow together yet are so different.

This is a fitting invitation for a unique event and for a unique couple. It is available for complete customization at https://www.etsy.com/listing/105517239/5×7-sunshine-flowers-wedding-invitation

France, France everywhere!

11 Jul

I have an interest in France, French everything. The language (I took 4 years of classes), the culture of every region, the food of every region. I have never been to France, but I would love to go.  I find myself drawn to movies and books that have some kind of relationship to France. Not necessarily French-made or in French. Ratatouille is one of my favorite Pixar movies. I also like Pixar’s Wall-E. It includes the Louis Armstrong version of La Vie en Rose. Other animated films that I like that take place in France are The Aristocats and Anastatia. The Da Vinci Code is like a crazy tour of part of France. The movie Jean de Florette takes place in rural Provence. It’s so beautiful and Jean de Florette is a very good movie that is actually French and in French. Lavendar fields, the French Alps, crepes, beautiful French High Gothic architecture. So amazing, the Chartres Cathedral, Notre Dame which reminds me, the book by Victor Hugo, The Hunchback of Notre Dame; a great piece of French literature that I read in English. Brilliant artists of France: Gustave Courbet, Manet, Degas, Claude Monet, Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Renoir, Paul Cézanne, Gauguin, Rousseau, Toulouse-Lautrec, and it goes on and on. Also the Louvre museum! Amazing I’m sure. And also other amazing museums such as the Musée d’Orsay. Enough of my interest in France and French everything. This is a result of my French interests. Mostly the language because the focal point is in French.
